Recently, the 5m-class wind-assisted rotor, a 5m-level wind-assisted rotor independently developed by CSSC (Shanghai) Energy Saving Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the China Shipbuilding Industry Research Institute, was installed on the "Yuedean 83" ship. We won the bid for the sailing project and signed the first domestic order for independently developed ultra-large wind-assisted rotors for application on large bulk carriers.
The wind-assisted rotor system that won the bid this time has a diameter of 5m, a maximum sustainable operating speed of 180 rpm, and a maximum thrust of more than 300kN.
The system is equipped with a movable mechanism and can be fully adapted to the loading and unloading operations of 80,000-ton bulk carriers.
After the "Yudean 83" ship is equipped with two sets of rear rotor sails, it can achieve an energy saving effect of 5%-8% depending on the route conditions. It is expected to save about 2 tons of fuel per day and reduce marine greenhouse gas emissions by 1,600 tons per year, realizing economic value. and social value, effectively solving the bottleneck problem of energy conservation, emission reduction and carbon intensity indicator rating improvement for transport ships of 80,000 tons and above.
