SOLAS immersion suits are protective gear designed for personnel working at sea. Made of waterproof materials such as neoprene rubber, their core function is to maintain body temperature and provide buoyancy support in cold water.
According to international standards, these suits must still provide thermal protection after a 4.5-meter dive, and in water temperatures ranging from 0°C to +2°C, must ensure a body temperature drop of no more than 2°C within 6 hours.
Suitable for use on ocean-going vessels, oil platforms, and other similar locations, they are equipped with safety accessories such as life jacket lights and whistles. According to the "Technical Rules for Statutory Inspection of Ships," cargo ships must be equipped with an appropriate number of water-resistant thermal suits based on the number of personnel working on board, and these suits must be regularly maintained to ensure their technical condition.
Technical Characteristics
Materials and Manufacturing Process: The outer layer is made of waterproof and flame-retardant neoprene rubber, and the inner layer is made of composite heat-insulating material. High-frequency heat sealing is used at the seams to ensure watertightness.
Structural Design: The one-piece structure covers the entire body except the face, and is equipped with double-layer waterproof zippers and an adjustable neck opening.
Safety Accessories: Includes a throwable buoy, a two-handed whistle, and a 48-hour battery life light. The pull tab design facilitates rescue.
Equipment Standards
According to the Technical Rules for Statutory Inspection of Ships (2024 Revision):
Cargo ships should provide 100% of their crew with properly fitting clothing, with at least 3 sets stored in lifeboats or 1 set per person.
When the life raft is stored more than 100 meters from the ship's deck, 2 additional sets of spare clothing are required.
Clothing sizes are available in three categories: M (150-170cm), L (170-190cm), and XL (190-210cm), ensuring freedom of movement.
