Dredging float is a floating material designed for dredger pipelines, mainly used to support the conveying pipeline floating on the water surface.
This product is made of high molecular polyethylene as the main material, and is formed in one step through the rotational molding process. It has the characteristics of impact resistance, corrosion resistance, and UV resistance. The inside of the float is usually filled with high-density foam to ensure sufficient buoyancy to support the gravity of pipelines and operating equipment.
Its split design is easy to install and is widely used in water construction projects such as dredging projects and port expansion.
Material and structure
Dredging floats are mainly made of high molecular weight polyethylene (HMWPE) or linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE), which are integrally formed through rotational molding, and the seamless structure enhances the overall pressure resistance.
Common structures are divided into a combination of the inner tube, outer tube and fastening ring of the float, or a two-piece split design fixed by screws. The interior is filled with EPS foam, with a density of about 35 kg/m3 and a tensile strength of 0.2MPA, to ensure that the buoyancy is maintained even if the outer shell is damaged.
