Key points for maintenance and upkeep of D type liferafts

★Check the raft body for damage, cracks, aging, etc. Especially the connection between the raft body and the tent, the handrail position and other places that are prone to wear and tear. Small damages found must be repaired in time, such as using special rubber repair materials to repair small holes or cracks in the raft body.

★Check the waterproofness and integrity of the tent, and check whether the tent material is torn or faded. The tent poles should be checked for deformation, corrosion or looseness. If there are any problems, they need to be replaced or tightened in time.

★Inspect life jackets and lifebuoys, including buoyancy testing and checking whether accessory equipment (such as whistles and reflective strips) are normal. The straps and buckles of the life jacket must be able to be used normally and are not damaged or aged.

★Check the validity period and integrity of the signal flares. The flares must be stored in accordance with the prescribed storage methods to avoid moisture or damage. Emergency position-indicating radio beacons (EPIRB) must be functionally tested regularly to ensure that the battery power is sufficient and the signal transmission is normal.

★Check the shelf life of fresh water and food, and replace expired fresh water and food regularly. Medical first aid kits should check the expiration date of medicines and supplies and replenish missing items in a timely manner.

★Check the hanging device interface on the top of the liferaft for deformation, wear or corrosion.

★The strength and reliability of connecting hooks, ropes and other components must be checked to ensure that they can withstand the weight of the life raft and passengers during the lifting process.

★Perform regular maintenance on the lifting device, including lubrication of the winch, inspection and replacement of wire ropes, etc.
