How to maintain an immersion suit

1.Cleaning method

•Daily cleaning: If the thermal clothing is only slightly dirty, you can use mild neutral detergent and warm water to clean it. Soak the insulated suit in the detergent solution, gently rub the soiled area, and then rinse with clean water. Be careful not to use strong detergents or scrub vigorously with a brush to avoid damaging the waterproof and thermal insulation layers of the thermal clothing.

•Deep cleaning: For serious stains or insulated clothing that has been used for a long time, you can consider deep cleaning. But this is best done by a professional or following the manufacturer's recommendations. Generally, it may be necessary to use special thermal insulation clothing cleaning equipment. During the cleaning process, the temperature, concentration and cleaning time of the cleaning fluid must be strictly controlled.

2.Drying method

•Natural drying: The cleaned thermal insulation clothing should be placed in a well-ventilated, dry place to dry naturally. Avoid exposing your insulated clothing directly to the sun, as ultraviolet rays may damage the material of your insulating clothing. You can hang the insulated clothing on a clothes drying rack to ensure it is fully ventilated and allows the moisture to evaporate naturally.

•Do not use heat sources for drying: Never use hair dryers, heaters and other heat sources to speed up the drying process. Because high temperatures may cause the insulation material of the thermal insulation clothing to deform and damage the waterproof layer, thus affecting the performance of the thermal insulation clothing.

3.Storage precautions

•Storage environment: The insulated life jacket should be stored in a dry, cool, and ventilated place, and avoid being stored in an environment with moisture, high temperature, or chemical substances. Thermal clothing can be hung on a dedicated hanger or folded neatly and placed in a dry cabinet.

•Regular inspections: Even if the thermal suit is not in use, it should be inspected regularly (for example, once a month). Check whether the insulation clothing has mold, deformation, material aging, etc. At the same time, check the validity period and performance of the survival tools, such as whether the flare has expired, whether the whistle can still be used normally, etc.
