Asia's First Cylindrical "offshore Oil And Gas Processing Plant" Was Completed in Qingdao

Asia's first cylindrical FPSO (floating production, storage and offloading unit) "Haikui No. 1" was delivered in Qingdao, Shandong!

    This marks a major breakthrough in key technologies for the independent design and construction of my country's deepwater oil and gas equipment, and is of great significance to promoting the economic and efficient development of my country's deepwater oil and gas fields.

    As the mainstream production device for global deepwater offshore oil and gas development, FPSO is a high-end offshore engineering equipment integrating crude oil production, storage, export and other functions. 

    Compared with conventional ship structures, cylindrical FPSOs are smaller, more compact, and have higher oil storage efficiency. They also have the advantages of less steel consumption, good stability, and strong ability to withstand harsh sea conditions, which can effectively reduce the cost of oilfield development and operating costs. 

    It is reported that "Haikui No. 1" is composed of nearly 600,000 parts and components, has a design displacement of 100,000 tons, a maximum oil storage capacity of 60,000 tons, a design life of 30 years, and can operate continuously at sea for 15 years without returning to dock.
